Hi beautiful people!

I’m sorry that I’ve been MIA for so long but I have been super busy with my newborn son Michael! He is my second child,  but after 4 years it feels like a whole new experience again! I will tell you more about the birth and living with a newborn in another video so without further due, let’s talk about my experience with mastitis and what really helped me!

How did I get it?

So the first day after I came back from the hospital, I woke up with DD breasts sooo heavy looking like I just had a breast augmentation. They were feeling like rocks and really hurt . A couple of hours later I started to get chills and my temperature would just up and down from 96 degrees to 103! I was absolutely freaking out and I thought I was gonna die! It took a while till I figured out what works great for mastitis.

So here are my top tips so you don’t have to suffer like I did!

  1. Take Sunflower Lecitin: it reduces the “stickiness” of milk and prevents clogged ducts which lead to mastitis. It makes it easier to “massage” out your engorgement and I would actually take it through your whole breastfeeding journey if you are prone to clogged ducts like I am. Take 4 capsules a day and you will notice a big difference!

  1. Massage every time you pump and before with olive oil/ coconut oil . It relaxes your milk ducts and makes your milk flow better AND you will get more milk out. Some people use tooth brushes, but I found this really cool lactation massager that works perfectly! It’s called LaVie lactation massager and It has multiple vibration modes and I love to use it under the shower before each of my pumps.

  1. La Vie Duct Flow Drops: These drops are great if your engorged or about to get mastitis! It is made with herbal biotics like elder flower and bee propolis that help with tender and sore breasts and support optimum immune response to fight mastitis!

  1. Cabbage cream: I’m sure you have heard a million of times that cabbage is essential in fighting engorgement and mastitis. The problem is that it’s so annoying and frustrating to put cabbage leaves into your bra that keep falling out and all over the place! This is why I’m in love with …. you just put it in your breasts like a cream and go in about your day! Super easy!
